Hannes advises governments, their missions, businesses, NGOs and IGOs on trade law and policy, from regulatory and policy design to FTA negotiations to WTO dispute settlement. He recently advised a client on the climate-smart design of trade policy measures, supported an animal welfare group in defending the EU’s seal products ban, advised a wine association on lobbying for WTO-compatible legislation, designed a manual on rules of origin, advised several pharmaceutical firms on various issues, and supported the design of a regional TBT committee. His true passion, however, is trade in services. He has been working on multiple projects and publications on services over the past decade, including advising clients on domestic regulation of services, WTO and RTA services negotiations, the LDC Services Waiver, services export strategies and services statistics.
